Effective date: 26 August 2026

This privacy policy explains how Tuning In Community Interest Company (“Tuning In”, “we”, “us” or “our”) handles information when you use the Give Yourself a Moment mobile application (the “App”).

Who we are

The App is provided by Tuning In Community Interest Company, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 15139827. Our registered office is 6 Hawthorn Road, Manchester, England, M40 3RH.

For privacy questions or requests, contact us at hello@tuning-in.co.uk.

Information stored on your device

The App may store your display name, intention, favourites, recent practices and journal reflections locally on your device. This information is used to provide the App’s personalisation, journal and favourites features.

This locally stored information is not uploaded to a Tuning In account, because the current version of the App does not create personal cloud accounts. We do not receive or read it unless you choose to share it with us, for example when contacting us for support.

App content and technical information

Practice information and audio are delivered securely using Google Firebase services, including Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage. When the App connects to these services, limited technical information may be processed, such as device type, operating-system version, app identifier, platform, network information and service-performance or diagnostic information.

We use this limited information to deliver App content, maintain security, diagnose problems and understand the general platforms and App versions in use. We do not use it to build advertising profiles.

How we use information

Legal bases

Where UK or EU data-protection law applies, we rely on the performance of our service to you, our legitimate interests in operating a secure and reliable App, compliance with legal obligations, and consent where the law requires it.

Sharing and service providers

We do not sell personal information. We do not use the App for cross-app tracking and we do not include third-party advertising.

Google acts as a service provider for Firebase. Google may process technical information on our behalf to deliver and protect its services. You can read more in the Firebase Privacy and Security information and the Google Privacy Policy.

International processing

Our service providers may process information outside the United Kingdom or European Economic Area. Where required, appropriate safeguards are used for international transfers.

Retention and deletion

Information stored locally remains on your device until you remove it using available App or device controls, or delete the App. Any limited technical information processed by our service providers is retained according to their service settings, legal obligations and retention practices.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information, and to request data portability or withdraw consent. Because personal journal content and preferences are stored only on your device, we may not hold a copy that we can retrieve.

To make a request, email hello@tuning-in.co.uk. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your local data-protection authority.

Children

The App is not designed to collect personal information from children through an account. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us, please contact us so that we can address it.

Wellbeing boundary

The App is a wellbeing companion, not medical care. Its practices support pausing and reflection and do not diagnose, treat or replace professional medical or mental-health support.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the App, our services or legal requirements change. We will publish the updated version on this page and revise the effective date above.
